Dust Control Training

Maricopa County Dust Control Certification Classes

MCAQD
As of January 1, 2011, Maricopa County Air Quality Department will be conducting the training themselves. Click here to go to their website for more information on their training classes. To register for a class, you can contact MCAQD at 602-372-1467.
Maricopa County requires either Basic or Comprehensive Certification for personnel on all job sites which require a Dust Control Permit.

Who needs Basic Certification?
All water truck drivers - for sites 0.1 (one-tenth) acre or larger, and at least one person (superintendent) on-site must be certified - for sites under 5 acres. This applies to commercial and residential construction.

Who needs Comprehensive Certification?
At least one person on-site (from the General Contractor) must be certified - for sites 5 acres or larger. There must be one certified representative on-site at all times, so you may want to get a back-up person certified as well. This applies to commercial and residential construction.
